How Mouzi and mouzi.cc handle data.

Data controller

The controller for optional website analytics is Krystian Welcel, the maintainer of Mouzi. Questions and GDPR requests can be sent to haser88@gmail.com.

The application

Mouzi processes files entirely on your device. The application does not collect, transmit or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

  • No account or registration exists.
  • No telemetry or analytics are sent.
  • File names, paths and contents never leave your machine.
  • Rules, settings and move history are stored locally and can be deleted by removing the configuration folder.
  • The optional update check requests GitHub's public releases feed. This is a standard HTTPS request to GitHub and is subject to GitHub's privacy policy. You can disable it in settings.

This website

mouzi.cc is a static site. If you allow optional analytics, it loads Google Analytics 4 using measurement IDG-GMDTSE5DFS. Google Analytics records page visits, session information, approximate location, and browser and device details. It may store a first-party client identifier in cookies whose names begin with_ga. It does not receive file names, paths, rules or other data from the Mouzi application.

Google Analytics does not load until you choose Allow analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain disabled. Your choice is saved locally in your browser undermouzi-analytics-consent for up to 180 days. You can change it below. See Google's privacy policy for information about Google's processing.

Fonts and site assets are self-hosted. Download links point to GitHub Releases, where GitHub's policies apply. Sponsor links are ordinary links and sponsors cannot place tracking scripts on this site.

Purpose and legal basis

Analytics is used to count visits, understand which documentation and download pages are useful, and find site navigation problems. When you click an official release download, the site records the Mouzi version, operating system, package type, file name and page containing the button. It does not record files from your computer or anything Mouzi organizes. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Refusing analytics does not limit the website, downloads or the Mouzi application. No analytics data is used for automated decisions or profiling by Mouzi.

Cookies, retention and recipients

After consent, Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies to distinguish users and sessions. Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years, although browsers may shorten it. User-level and event-level information in a standard GA4 property may be retained for up to 14 months. Aggregated reports may remain available for longer.

Analytics data is processed by Google, including Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA. Google may use infrastructure or subprocessors outside the EEA and describes its transfer safeguards, including applicable adequacy frameworks and Standard Contractual Clauses, in its international transfer information.

Your rights

The application does not send personal data to Mouzi. Local application data is under your control at%APPDATA%\Mouzi (Windows) or ~/.config/mouzi (Linux).

For website analytics data, you may request access, rectification, deletion or restriction where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
